While Swapit is growing rapidly every day, sometimes users of Swapit realize that Swapit is not for them. That’s OK, we all know how it is when you try something new and it’s just not your thing – yet. So you might want to close your Swapit account. Below is how you do it.
Before you close your account, though, please consider the options below. Perhaps you’re one of the users who want to close their Swapit account because you get too many notifications or emails. While we try to minimize those to only the necessary ones, we understand that some of you do not even want to receive those. Here is what you can do:
- Adjust Notification Settings
Open the Swapit “Settings” and look under “Notifications”, which of the notifications you do not need. If you deactivate all notifications there, you will then only receive chat messages from other customers about your sale posts or the posts you are interested in. - Unsubscribe from Email Newsletter
After joining Swapit You also receive the Swapit newsletter with various tips and tricks about Swapit. Each of those emails has an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of it. If you don’t want those emails anymore, just click the “unsubscribe” link once and you’re done.
Now, if all of this is still not enough for you, here is how you can close your account. It’s easy to do.
To close your account just
- Open Swapit
- Navigate to your user profile
- Hit “Edit”
- Select “Close Account”
- Follow the instructions shown
Swapit will then basically create a custom email that will be sent to our support system. In that email, we will know your Swapit user ID and with that we’re able to close your account.
We’d like you to tell us your reason why you close the account. While that is optional of course, it would help us a lot in improving Swapit and making sure Swapit is the right for everyone who uses it.
Shortly after you should receive an email that your account has been suspended and it has been scheduled for deletion. From that moment onward, you will not be receiving any further push notifications through the app nor will you be able to browse the Swapit catalog or post items for sale.
If at any point in time before deletion, you’d like to get back into Swapit, please just send us an email and we will re-activate your account. If your account has been deleted already, please create a new one.
