Swapit was Finalist at the Walk21 CityTech Awards 2016

Last week, I had the honor to receive another award for Swapit. This time it was for the Walk21HK CityTech Awards.

Walk21HK is about:

[…] Hong Kong is leading the charge to become one of Asia’s most walkable cities and what this means to both you and the society in which you live. Experience how “pedestrian-first” environments promote economic growth, social inclusion and health and wellbeing. Learn about emerging trends, build networks and have an impact on local policy agendas.

There were several finalists and a few winners who have created solutions that address walkability more directly than Swapit. However, we were still be honored with a nice award for Swapit. In fact, we believe Swapit makes our world a bit more walkable by reducing the amount of people that need to flow through the city. Swapit connects buyers and sellers nearby, through which they actually do not need to travel far to close their sale. As a result, Swapit encourages walking by connecting within walking distance. No individual, no public transport needed. Walking is just fine.

Swapit Wins Certificate of Merit at Asia Smartphone Apps Contest 2016

We are proud to announce that Swapit won the Certificate of Merit at the Asia Smartphone Apps Contest 2016.

So last Thursday, we made our way to the Asia Smartphone Apps Summit, which was held at Cyberport. It was a great opportunity to go on stage and receive our certificate in person. On top of that, we’ve also had a chance to network with other fellow entrepreneurs as well as with new potential investors who where there to find some gems.

It was great to be back at Cyberport and I am sure, there will be many more events, which we will attend.

Swapit at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2015

This morning the swapit team was invited to present swapit to a group of judges at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2015 – Best Mobile Apps Award.

Earlier in January, we have submitted swapit to the awards because we feel we can make difference in Hong Kong’s mobile consumer market. We chose to submit our application i the Consumer and Lifestyle Solutions award stream because that is the field we are uniquely positioned in with our location-based consumer-to-consumer trading platform.

It was great to see some recognition by the pre-screening process that allowed swapit to move to the next stage and actually present to the judges. You can find the slides we used to present swapit right here:

We at swapit were really excited about this opportunity and we hope we could convince the judges of our vision.
